Olympus Evolt E510 10MP Digital SLR Camera Review

Olympus Evolt E510 – I thought it would be worthwhile to put together a short review and give you some understanding of my experience with this camera. It is a great camera for someone who is evolving as a photographer and I would certainly fit that particular bracket.

The sharpness of the pictures is great and probably my favourite feature of the camera, is the optical viewfinder located at the back. The LCD display is big at 2.5 inches and this makes looking at the text and the various icons on the camera a much easier thing to do. My eyesight is not as good as it used to be so I found this feature to be particularly useful. The camera has a 10 megapixel sensor which is good as allows me to crop all photographs and then cut and paste them to my Internet sites without losing any of the quality.

The other things I have noticed with this camera is that the dust buster actually works unlike anything I have used before. Another great advantage of this camera is the speed of the next shot. That is not something I would have considered before because I believed all Digital cameras had a time delay. That is certainly not the case with this wonderful camera. The camera also feels good to hold and is an ideal size and weight. The lens range covers between 28 to 300 mm and that is a really important consideration when you come to make your own decision.

I also found the controls to be excellent and also the level of control that you can have with this camera. The simple menu system is great as everything appears to be fairly self explanatory. If you’re like me and considering buying one of these type of cameras for the first time a great advantage is to have value for money, ease of use as you start to learn the differences between a point and click and an SLR. With this camera simply I can assure you that anyone can use it. My switchover from my point-and-click camera to this one has been pain-free. You can of course buy better lenses and add these to your camera but that is not an option I have so far gone with. Lenses that come with the camera are actually more than I will probably ever need. The camera also has a built in flash and seems to work well.

For me it is all about the quality of the photograph and I have to say I have been mightily impressed with the quality of the photographs I get from this,. There is a bit of a learning curve just to get used to SLR but once you grasp that then I promise you you will never go back. Like all cameras there are pros and cons. I am probably not experienced enough as a photographer to give you the cons and all I can tell you is that I really enjoy using this Olympus evolt e510 10mp.

Loyalists of single lens reflex (SLR) cameras might still find digital SLR a bit too automatic. However, Olympic Brings you back to familiar grounds as it introduced its one-of-a-kind digital SLR camera, the Olympus Evolt E510. If you are interested in the product, click here.

Those who are used to digital cameras and their optical zooming capabilities might find the manual zooming a bit tedious and tacky, but it gives you the look of a pro plus you’re doing it on a really worthy DSLR so might as well prepare for it if you’re buying the Evolt E510. The Olympyus DSLR gives you 10 Megapixel utilizing a complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) as a sensor that gives you superior picture quality both on a LCD screen or large size printouts supported by the latest printers. Images can be viewed on the wide 2.5-inch LCD screen that comes with Hypercrystal technology, a technology that offers higher contrast than ordinary LCD monitors. Images are displayed in vibrant colors both on the camera’s display and on a larger LCD display.

Olympus also pioneered Live View, a feature that allows users to view what they are shooting prior to pressing the shutter. This innovative and patented technology is built-in the Olympus Evolt E510 10 MP DSLR, a wonderful and awesome feature that exceeds the old viewfinder.

Shakes affect the pictures quality. That’s why Olympus has the Evolt E510 built-in with a Mechanical Image Stabilization (IS). This feature compensates for camera shakes or movements. It also has Digital IS that allows clear capture of moving objects. Together, this combination eliminates blurred images and fuzzy photos.

Dust can also be captured by the camera, appearing as circular orbs when taken in still images or on videos. Olympus Evolt E510 Dust Reduction System prevents dust from residing on the lens by capturing dust and moving particles on an adhesive membrane each time you start your camera. This system reduces retouching hours on image editors such as Photoshop, or frequent maintenance and repair trips to the camera’s manufacturer.

Olympus’ Evolt E510 10MP DSLR is especially designed to be compatible with digital lenses. It is compatible with the wide array of Zuiko Digital Specific Lenses and Flashes. In fact, all Olympus cameras belonging in the E-series family are compliant to the four-thirds standard.

Olympus Evolt E510 includes 14-42mm and 40-50mm/4.0-5.6 Zuiko lenses. It also supports different memory cards: xD, CompactFlash, and Micro Drive, and is powered by one lithium-ion BLM-1 battery.
